All the ladies

Nesting

Already passed a few days after my last post, and announced the coming of spring. To visit every page, and the silence here - nothing happens. It is not so - but missed last time entries, but my woodland surroundings came to life as possible with the arrival of starlings. Continuing rather cold and the winters are not an attempt to halt recurrence przedwiosennego development of nature.

All nest on the edge of my property and the birds have begun to address their nesting boxes, often sinking to their takeover battle. Even the tits, which is with me several types, shrilly acquire their breeding territory. Blue tit shows the greatest activity - is the one which in nature is considered to be most fruitful. Mitzvah two breed throughout the year, and its progeny is one of the most numerous - sometimes that can brood as many as 19 eggs. Last year, occupied my original breeding booth at the entrance to the hut.

Already starlings arrived

Yesterday it was 11 degrees and I think it made the afternoon saw the first starlings. Not much distrusted, but after watching them through binoculars I noticed złotawo mottled plumage. Slightly drooping wings betrayed traveled a long way, and fatigue. Their small profiles indicate that they are juveniles from last year's clutch. Masse obsiadły same vertices larch that have caught the rays of the setting sun. Their expressive skrzekot, similar to the loud gnashing of teeth zwabiał consecutive individuals who flew from over the still snow-covered meadows.

When the year's harsh winter pond covered with a thick layer of ice, I began to worry about overwintering fish there. For me it is a sign that they were able to survive an alien to them yet harsh winter.

Holy Maciej winter is ...

24 February gives us weather plans. Old Polish proverb Holy days. Matthias attributed predicting the actions of the winter: "The Holy Maciej winter, or it is rich." Thus, bearing in mind the word as a warm and sunny yesterday, we can safely say that is already farewell to the winter.

In my forest, starting in the morning hear the voices calling in birds. Early in the morning, first began to hear blackbirds, tits and then reminded of their partners, and the locust came in front of metal popiskiwania couples kowalików. Small stadkami on emerging from beneath the snow grass przysiadywały rozweselone czyżyki. On the edge of becoming bluntly hear woodpeckers drumming and strident skrzekot color sójek. Spring goes big strides.

Thing about keys

The key word has very many meanings. The term used by many areas of life. For me the key word in the four areas in particular is very interesting.

When I see the historical objects of architecture, it draws attention to the key - the keystone over the main entrance (if visible), or one of klińców in the arc and the arc arcade arch. This is usually part of brick or stone as a wedge, which allowed the builder to the thrust block length lintel, arch or dome portion, and often the whole enormity of the building. Strength of the pressure created by the arc that is so great that even a mortar or other bonding agent would not be necessary - it is impressive to me. In the old architecture builder zwornikom imparted distinctive, often ornate form, which is such that (presented in the photo opposite) over the entrance to the Old City Hall in Torun.

The second area in which the key is used is the music. And for me it takes the beautiful shape of treble clef (also called key violin). This is a logo, setting out the position on a staff of one sound (g1). A lot of fun for me was learning the drawing still in elementary school - singing lessons. This unusual form, which probably can please everyone, and is drawn one smooth motion. Try - starting with the second line!

The sparrow-hawk of the pear

However, I visited and the sparrow hawk. At the beginning of winter, a bird of prey I saw the pear garden next to the pavilion. It seemed to me that the buzzard, and so I wrote in one of the posts. And now one day I witnessed the following scene - from over reading a newspaper escaped me dull thump on the glass kitchen window. It was heard as if a bird could not brake and went straight into the glass windows. Ran outside to see what it was. On the white snow I saw in several places feathery wyskubki (remnants of a small, bird feathers), and near the meadow I noticed was departing from sparrowhawks prey from my feeder. A floating pen in the air belonged to one of my dokarmianych winter sikorek. Analyzing the food chain the animal world, I can say that the supplementary feed is not only poor, small ptaszyny, but predators.

I saw the shadow of an eagle ...

It is this view today, I fell in love. Three white-tailed sea eagles for more than five minutes pozowały my pictures during today's relaxation of cross-country skis.

This was my fourth (after the Sunday break the regeneration of forces) the day cross-country skiing in Bory Stobrawskich. I regret that I had with him a camera - these pictures taken, unfortunately, are not cell specific. Nevertheless, the evidence of wildlife must be enough. About encountered a few years ago I wrote bieliku in the last post. And here today, as if to confirm this fact and at the request appeared over my head - and it is up to three!
